devo+demo update
more songs and devos are on the way!
Welcome to devo+demo, a project combining scripture and song in short devotionals to help you spend focused time with God. To support this project, please consider becoming a free or paid subscriber, and sharing with friends.
Let the message of Christ dwell among you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom through psalms, hymns, and songs from the Spirit, singing to God with gratitude in your hearts. Colossians 3:16 NIV
Thank you to everyone who has read, listened, commented, shared, and supported this project in so many ways!
In case you are new here, here’s a little recap: the first set of song/devotional combos released in the spring of 2026, once a week for six weeks. You can still find them all on the devo+demo Substack. Just click “posts” if you’re using the app, or “archive” if you’re using a desktop computer. If you’re reading this via email, you’ll need to go to the website to view the archive.
A reminder: this is an AI-free zone. All songs, devotionals, and recordings were 100% written, edited, and produced by real humans.
I am happy to report that Volume 2 is underway! The next set of songs has been prayerfully selected and the recording process has begun. The devos are in the early phase of diving deep into Scripture and prayer to discern what the Lord wants to say.
Summer travel and a new puppy has slowed me down a bit, but the launch date will be announced soon. (In fact, if you’re listening to my voiceover recording, you might hear the puppy in the background at times!)
I feel like every day I grow in my music production skills, so even though these will still be demos, hopefully the quality will continue to improve.
It’s exciting to record each of these songs in this humble way. One song was written in 2018 at a retreat with some other Austin area worship leaders, and I have been using it in small church settings ever since, although it has never been recorded. Another song was written with two new friends just in the last few months.
These are genuine expressions of worship from the diverse body of Christ.

One of the core values of this project is that devotionals and songs remain free and accessible to everyone. But there are real costs involved: web hosting services, graphic design, recording equipment, coffee, etc.
By becoming a paid subscriber (known around here as a Patron of the Arts), you support this project and help put Scripture and song into the ears and hearts of others. You can also purchase the album on Bandcamp as a way of showing your support! But most of all, see #1: Pray!
May God richly bless you,
Amy
